Make a list of special memories and experiences you've had with the couple. Write down some instances when you enjoyed time with them. List any trips, celebrations and major events that you have shared with them. Likewise, try to remember the little things that you've done with them: simple family meals, a touching conversation or a time they helped you, say, jump-start your car. These special instances will make your toast stand out.

Hone in on those moments and think about what they made you feel about the couple. According to Special Speeches, you should write about who the couple is, while congratulating them on their anniversary. Take a close look at who they are as people: are they, for instance, generous, compassionate and devoted to one another? Think about the important things that makes their relationship stand out. Next, look at how their personalities impacted a few of the experiences you've had with them. Select an instance or two where you saw their personalities at play when you were together. For example, if you went on a camping trip with the couple and hiked to the top of the mountain, did they both share their food with you? Think about how their generosity makes them good for one another and how they positively impact the people around them.

Start writing your speech naturally, utilizing the ideas you've thought about beforehand. The toast should be written colloquially and naturally, since you'll most likely be speaking out loud. Start by introducing yourself to the crowd and letting people know how you've met the couple and how long you've known them. Then, discuss an experience you've had with them, like the hypothetical camping trip. Focus on how you feel around them, how they act toward one another and why you believe they make a great couple. Focus on positive things and let your personality shine through. Be funny, honest and congratulatory.
