The eMachines D6419 was first introduced in 2004 as a basic system for home users. The standard features of the D6419 included a mouse, keyboard, speakers, desktop box and a 17-inch LCD monitor. The D6419 also included a copy of Windows XP Home Service Pack 2. Unlike most other name brand computers it did not include an extended software package, requiring the user to purchase software other than the operating system separately. - The D6419 is an AMD-based computer that uses a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor. The 3400+ series processor used in the D6419 is a 64-bit processor that has an operating frequency of 2.0 gigahertz. It has a 512 kilobyte L2 data cache and a system bus rated at 2.0GHz. The standard configuration of the D6419 supported 512 megabytes of dual channel DDR RAM operating at 400 megahertz. The motherboard of this computer only provided two slots for RAM that were capable of supporting up to 4GB of memory. The stock RAM used in the D6419 was a pair of 256MB modules of PC3200 DDR memory.
- The D6419 included a single 200GB hard drive rated at 7,200 rpm. The optical drive provided with this computer was a 16x DVD burner capable of reading and burning both the + and the - format of DVD-R, DVD-RW and dual-layer DVD formats. This drive could also read and write the CD-R and CD-RW disc formats. The D6419 also provided an eight-in-one digital media card reader that supported formats including SD, Smart Media, Multimedia Card, Memory Stick Pro and others using a USB 2.0 interface.
- Video processing for the D6419 was handled by an integrated nVIDIA GeForce 6100 graphics controller. It provided a maximum 128 mb of shared video memory using available system memory. The D6419 offered upgradeable video capabilities with a single PCI Express x16 slot. Audio processing was handled by an on-board 6-channel sound card that provided 5.1 high-definition audio output through amplified desktop stereo speakers. Networking on the D6419 was handled by an integrated 10/100 megabits per second Ethernet card and fax modem. The fax modem included with the D6419 supported dial-up 56K ITU connections with support for V.92.
