There are plenty of activities near Capac, Michigan, to satisfy your Halloween spirit. Two haunted houses, a hay ride, and the County of Tuscola Festival will all keep you busy this Halloween season. - Terrors of the Night haunted house runs four dates a year. The year of 2009 the haunted house ran October 10, 17, 24, and 31. Doors open at dark and close at 11:00 pm. The price of admission is $7.00 per person with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Dryden Fire Department. Each year new scary scenes are created to give the return visitor a new experience. Opening in September, the scare fest runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night until Halloween. You may purchase just a scary hayride or tour the haunted house, or if you are brave enough, you can try both with a combination ticket. Ticket prices for adults run from $7.00 for a single hay ride to $15.00 for both a hay ride and haunted house tour. Try working on a float or pumpkin for the Tuscola County Pumpkin Festival or you can dress up and scare other Halloween fun seekers at the haunted house. Salem's Haunted Barn has participated in and won entries in the Tuscola County Pumpkin Festival. Starting September 30th, the month long festival offers fans of Halloween a parade, pumpkin carving contests, chainsaw carving contest, as well as food and faire contests. Included are car and motorcycle shows, food and entertainment, raffles, and several different types of races including bed races.
