How to Use Dryer Lint
- 1). Stuff lint into empty toilet paper roll tubes. Melt old candle wax and drip it onto the ends to seal them. Allow the wax to harden and use these tubes as fire starters in your fireplace or when camping.
- 2). Make homemade paper. Combine lint and scrap paper in a blender with some water. Put window screen material inside of a picture frame and spread a thin layer of the slushy mixture over it. Peel it off and allow to dry completely.
- 3). Add the lint to your compost pile or use it as mulch. This is especially beneficial if your clothing is made of organic materials such as cotton or wool.
- 4). Make it into clay by tearing up three cups and putting it in a pan with two cups of water. Stir in a cup of flour. Heat over low flame, stirring constantly. When the mixture has reached a smooth consistency, pour onto some newspaper. Mold into shape, allow to dry completely (may take several days) and paint or decorate as desired.
- 5). Hang a mesh bag - like some produce comes in - from a tree in your yard or on your porch. Stuff lint into the bag. The birds and squirrels will love using it for nesting material.
