How to Apply for U.S. Citizenship After Citizenship Being Denied
- 1). Go to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service website. Click on the "Forms" tab in the upper left-hand side of the page.
- 2). Scroll down the list of forms, and click on "Form N-336, Request for Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings." Download the application.
- 3). Complete the application. State the reason you are requesting an appeal in the space provided on the application. You also have the option of writing a separate statement or brief that explains your position or gives evidence to support your citizenship application approval.
- 4). Mail your N-336 form to the office where you sent your original citizenship application. You must mail this form within 30 days of the date you received citizenship denial. Enclose a check or money order for $605 payable to "The U.S. Department of Homeland Security." You will receive a decision on whether the office will approve or deny your citizenship application within six months.
