How to Water Blueberry Bushes
- 1). Add water to the roots of your blueberry plants regularly from early spring to late summer, giving the plants 1 to 3 inches of water each week. Spread the water applications out over the course of the week to keep the plants' roots from getting overly dry or heavily saturated.
- 2). Check the soil condition regularly from September through early spring and only water the plants if the soil just under the surface is dry to the touch. Add only enough water to moisten the soil.
- 3). Water the blueberry plants more frequently if necessary during dry spells in growth season. Monitor the soil's moisture condition during dry periods and add water as needed to keep the soil around the blueberry roots moist.
