How to Put a Letter Button Back on a Macbook Keyboard

13
    • 1). Gather the pieces you need. To put a letter button back on a MacBook keyboard, you need to have the white plastic part that goes under the key and the key itself.

    • 2). Place the white plastic part in the area where the key is supposed to go. Make sure it's flat.

    • 3). Pinch the plastic part together. This will help it go into the gap on the keyboard and allow you to slide it into its proper place. All of these actions need to happen quickly, so it might take you a few tries.

    • 4). Use the edge of a knife to slightly lift up the bottom of the plastic part that you just reattached.

    • 5). Place the key underneath the top portion of the plastic part. Keep your knife underneath the bottom portion. At this point, the key should be face-down.

    • 6). Flip the key over so that it's facing the correct way and remove the knife at the same time. This should cause the key to snap into its proper place. However, this might also take a few tries.

    • 7). Press down on the letter button once it's snapped in. This will ensure that it's properly connected and firmly in place.
