Christmas is a time when old family cookie favorites are the topic of the day.
From generation to generation, from ingredient spattered recipe cards and dog-eared pages of cherished recipe books, old and young gather together to bake and share stories of Christmas' gone by.
I finally got around to writing out this recipe to share with my family and friends.
These colourful and fun cookies are always a big favorite here at our house during the Christmas season.
Your family will surely head straight for the cookie platter in hopes of finding these delicious cookies waiting for them.
And the cookies do make a colorful addition to any sweet tray what with their bright green 'holly leaves' and red candy 'holly berries'.
The best thing for us busy bakers is that the cookies can be made 1-2 months ahead as they freeze well.
When I first started making these cookies over a dozen or more years ago, several mystery "Cookie Monsters" found the cookies I had placed in the freezer and they ate them frozen! Ever since those early years, Imake a few extras for tasting and I mislabel the freezer container.
These days there aren't any cookies disappearing before the holidays! Enjoy sharing them with family and friends, old and young alike.
Put your own spin on decorating these quick, tasty and fun to eat Christmas Wreath Cookies recipe.
Pass the recipe on to your next generation.
But most of all, enjoy making and sharing these holiday treats for your family and friends.
Even if distance and time passing separates us, as is the case ofThe Three Josies when we can't betogether to bake, just knowing that we are making the same special treats for our families no matter where we are in life keeps family ties strong.
