Blatantly Ignoring History

12
Columnist Charles Krauthammer had the audacious temerity to recently assert to the American reading public, in  "The Washington Post," that the United States Government has never been an enemy to Islam.
This asinine effort in polemics is a grave insult to anyone who has a fundamental knowledge of Middle Eastern political history, and is an open affront to Islamic clerical government.
  Perhaps Mr.
Krauthammer presumes that a historical Newspeak, conjured up by political revisionism, has conveniently erased the record of the successful 1953 CIA and British covert coup, dubbed Operation Ajax, orchestrated with the permission of President Dwight David Eisenhower, to overthrow the regime of the democratically elected Iranian head of state, Mohammed Mosaddeq, and install Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi as an absolute U.
S.
puppet ruler.
And the whole enigmatic operation was conducted for the control of Iranian oil.
The United States Government has always been an enemy to foreign clerical government when perceived threats to its foreign policy have been declared in the dark, hardly mentionable shadows of pragmatic conspiratorial contrivance.
In the case of Operation Ajax, President Harry Truman refused, in the latter period of his administration, to go along with the 50 million dollar clandestine project engineered mainly by CIA spook Kermit Roosevelt, a relative of both Teddy and FDR.
When Harry Truman dismissed the operation as both illegal and immoral, the CIA should have immediately disbanded their plans.
Yet, as history shows, the "Company," aided by clandestine British MI6, kept their covert machinery intact and successfully persuaded Eisenhower to subsequently okay the plan.
Consequently, Operation Ajax was deployed in 1953.
As a result of the staged coup, over 3,000 Iranian people lost their lives and Iran, and its oil production, was placed under the thumb of the United States from 1953 until Ayatolla Khomeini stepped into the scene with the Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979.
After the Islamic Revolution, the United States covertly funded Saddam Hussain to conduct a seven war with Iran.
It was the military armaments (including chemical/biological weapons) provided by the United States and other Western nations that Saddam used sadistically against the Kurds of Iraq during the late 1980s.
So, is their any doubt as to why the Muslim people of Iran, and Iraq, despise the United States Government?  To say that the calculated acts of the Bush I administration in Kuwait, against the Iraqis, were for the benefit of the Islamic people is hogwash, when millions of dollars of U.
S.
armaments were sold to Saddam in 1990, immediately before the famed invasion of shock and awe which obliterated the Iraqi infrastructure, placing Baghdad in stone-age conditions.
And there was, also, that issue concerning the alleged NSA satellite photos (the proclaimed basis for Operation Desert Storm) which supposedly had shown Saddam's war machine massing on the Saudi/Kuwaiti Border in early 1991.
The respected journalist, Jean Heller, produced other satellite photos, taken by a Russian commercial satellite, of the same border area at the same time, which clearly showed no traces of Saddam's tanks and troops.
Heller called the Pentagon and attempted to get Defense Secretary Dick Cheney to compare photos.
The attempt was, however, futile, for Cheney wouldn't talk to her.
The story Heller subsequently wrote was, unfortunately, not picked up by the UPI and AP wire services and only appeared in her Florida newspaper, "The St.
Petersburg Times.
"  Hence, only a very few Americans, out of the entire nation, were informed about the sordid intelligence fraud that had, probably, been committed by the Bush I administration, all for the sake of Middle Eastern oil.
Much more damage has been done to the integrity of Islam through the centuries through the heinous Western political brand of Christianity (the crusades and British imperialism), than has Islam done to the integrity of Christianity.
And now, at the beginning of the new century, comes the scourge of the almost fascist American style of pragmatism, using the Romanesque U.
S.
military as the decisive tool for determining the success of foreign policy objectives.
Mr.
Krauthammer obviously needs a refresher course in political and military history and his neoconservative tunnel vision blinders removed for the sake of journalistic truth and objectivity
