Organization

• Organizing your boxes according to room is the easiest way to stay organized on moving day--making sure that all of the kitchen supplies are together, the bathroom supplies, and so on. This way, you can be sure that you're not searching through boxes and can unpack easily. Make sure to arrange the moving truck with the boxes that will go at the front of your new house in the back. This way, you can unload boxes to the farthest room first, so you're not tripping over boxes you've already unloaded. The moving truck can be unloaded quickly, with all of the boxes clearly marked as to where they are to go.
  
  

Help

• You can't possibly move your entire home on your own, so get some help. You can hire professional movers to get your things to your new place, or to try and save some money you can see whether some of your friends and family members can come lend a hand. The more people there are to help, the faster the moving will go. You can entice volunteers by offering a luncheon of pizza and drinks, and that can be your way of thanking everyone for coming to help you move.
  
  

Clean Up

• Leave your cleaning supplies, mop and vacuum as the very last things that you pack. This way, when your old house is completely free of boxes and people, you can quickly wipe everything down, mop the floors and run the vacuum over the carpet. Then pack those supplies and they will be the first to come off of the truck at the new house, where you can get in before the boxes are moved in and start with a clean slate. Chances are that those cleaning supplies will be used during the moving day, so leave them out for easy access until everything is put away.
