Best Places to OHV in Iowa!
Known for its landscape of rolling plains and cornfields, Iowa sits comfortably between Missouri and Mississippi, and can be scenic and beautiful in its own right. Along with plenty of history, Iowa also offers the off-road crowd some fun riding areas that cater to ATVs and UTVs.
All ATVs, dirt bikes, and UTVs must be registered in order to ride in many of Iowa's OHV Parks. Non-resident riders will also need to display a non-resident user permit in order to ride in these areas.
Offering over 400 acres of riding area, Riverview OHV Park has miles of wooded trails along with several natural terrain motocross tracks, a pee wee track, and a four-mile perimeter track.
This park is open year round, unless weather or trail conditions are too poor to ride.
Overnight parking and camping is not permitted here, but there is camping available at nearby Deerwood Park.

This privately owned ranch features miles of scenic OHV trails that give riders access to scenic forests, challenging trails, mud bogs, water holes and some great hill climbs.
This is a membership only riding area, but guests are allowed on the property with a registered member.

This property has a large staging area with toilets and marked trails. The trails here are open all year, but can be very muddy and sloppy when it rains.
This is a day-use park only, and does not offer any camping. However, camping is allowed nearby at the Union Grove State Park and Tama County OHV Park.

This OHV park, located in the northwest corner of Appanoose County, consists of 125 acres of riding area and also features a kiddie area and a practice track.
Established in an abandoned rock quarry, the trails here consiste of dirt and rock and wind around trees, rocks and hills, following the natural lay of the land. There are trails here for all skill levels, and amenities include two shelters with picnic tables, a vault toilet, water hydrants, and a loading dock.
This park is open all year, except for certain weather exceptions.

Located in Tama County, this 300 acre park features a 15-mile perimeter trail, tight wooded trails, a kiddie track and a full motocross track. The trails here offer some tight woods riding as well as some elevation changes, and they wind near the banks of the Iowa River.
There is a large staging area here, with a campground that offers electricity and water, as well as primitive sites.
This park is open all year long to ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles.

This OHV park, located just outside of Cedar Rapids, IA, is open daily to UTVs, ATVs and motorcycles, and offers miles of trails, hills climbs, tight woods, mud bogs and ravines to ride in.
There is no fee to ride here, and no membership required. The maximum width of any vehicle being ridden in this park is 62" wide. Camping is not permitted here, but neaby MacBride Reservoir does offer camping, swimming and boat ramps.
A current Iowa registration sticker is required, and these permits are frequently checked, so be sure you have yours on your ride!
