Haunted Texas Vacations
- Just like any other state, Texas has its fair share of ghost stories and scary places. When you are looking for a haunted Texas vacation you can either get involved in one of the many pre-packaged adventures, or you can do some experimenting of your own and take a vacation to some of the haunted hotels of Texas. The paranormal is popular in Texas, and there are plenty of places that you could go to maybe see a ghost or two of your own.
- The Ghosts of the Warehouse District tour is a rather comprehensive one and a half hour walking tour of some of the spots in the Austin city area that are said to be the sites of murders. According to Austin Ghost Tours the guides tell stories of ghost sightings seen in areas of Austin such as Germantown and Guytown.

Included on this 90-minute walking tour is a look at the Driskill Hotel. It was built in 1886, and over the years the hotel has developed its own set of ghost sightings, murders scenes and folklore legend. Customers have reported hearing the giggling laughter of children and have even seen the cigar smoke of the hotel's founder Colonel Driskill.

It became a popular place for ranch hands and travelers to meet, and it soon began to develop some history of its own. According to Texas Less Traveled, guests at the hotel have reported seeing full body apparitions walking down halls, walking through doorways and even outside on the patio. Rumor has it that room number 10 is the most haunted room in the hotel.

Not only can you stay at the Menger Hotel and visit the ghosts at the Alamo, but according to Texas Less Traveled, guests have reported that Teddy Roosevelt himself stops by to have drink at the bar of the Menger Hotel. The hotel's website claims over 30 different ghosts have been seen on numerous occasions since the hotel opened in 1859.
