Softball Game, A Renowned Summer Olympic Game
Softball game is the most energetic game exactly like baseball which is played by a bigger ball in less smaller field. It was first originated in Chicago in 1887 on Thanksgiving Day as an indoor game. It was quite popular as baseball, playground game, mush ball game, kitten ball or softbound ball game as it was played mainly by ladies or women. This game got its identification in 1926 in a tournament organized at Chicago's World's fair in 1993 which stimulated more interest towards the game. This game got its recognition in 1996 as Summer Olympic sport and is played in more than 110 countries including Canada and United states.
This play is of two types, a slow pitch one and a fast pitch one.
Slow pitch type game: The ball is bigger than standard 12 inches in slow pitch game and includes 10 players in a team which restricts strictly the stealing and bunting.
Fast pitch game: In this game there is no restriction on stealing and bunting which includes nine players in a team and the pitch is very fast.
Softball game is little identical with baseball game, the major difference are of the pitched ball and there are seven innings in this play as compared to baseball which has all over nine innings.
Softball game play
This game game includes 9 players in each team and it can last from 3 to major 7 innings and depending upon league, type of softball game or rules. Commonly 7 innings are considered majorly. The fielding team is referred as defensive team while the batting team is called as offensive team which tries to score runs. The batting team is decided with a toss of coin. And it is pre decided that home team always bats on second position. In every inning, each team keeps on batting until 3 players are "bat out". The teams are switched then after. Numerous softball team player prefers batting secondly as they have a greater advantage of last at-bat and thinks of benefits as controlling over the last innings. In case of tie between the softball teams, extra innings are allowed to play until the broking of tie.
It can be played by young from 8 years of age to 60 years of age. Softball is also played on co creational leagues where in both men and women played in same team. Today this is the most popular game because it can be played in both indoor and outdoor.
