How to Filter a Pool Without Electricity
- 1). Prevent anyone from entering the pool until electricity is restored and the water has been tested. Filtering without electricity will help keep the water healthier for when the electric filter is working again but should not be trusted as a complete substitute.
- 2). Pull any floating debris out of the water. A fine net will collect a lot of dirt, leaves and other debris that otherwise can quickly start collecting on the water surface.
- 3). Attach a pool cleaner to a garden hose. The device is designed to use the water pressure from the hose to blast dirt and debris off the bottom of the pool and force it into a collection bag without using electricity.
- 4). Use pool shock treatment to superchlorinate the pool water. Pouring the shock into the pool in accordance with product instructions will help eliminate bacteria growth.
