How to Make Children's Teepee
- 1). Stack six sheets of newspaper and roll them tightly together diagonally, starting at one corner. Make a tube, then tape the corner so the tube stays in place. Use a few pieces of tape to reinforce the tube. Make 15 tubes.
- 2). Separate the tubes into five sections of three. For the first section, take the end of one tube and stick it into the open end of another tube. Tape it in place. Stick the last tube into the open end of the long tube and tape it. Repeat this for the remaining four sections of tubes until you have five long poles.
- 3). Hold all of the poles together and wrap a rubber band or string around the top. Spread the poles apart to create the coned shape of the teepee.
- 4). Wrap brown craft paper around the pole skeleton of the teepee. Glue the craft paper in place, or use a stapler. Leave an opening at the base of the teepee to act as a doorway.
- 5). Paint designs on the brown craft paper, or have your child paint them to reflect his personality. Let the paint dry, then use the teepee for reading, sleepovers or playtime.
