How to Set Up a Kodiak Tent
- 1). Spread the tent on the ground where you plan to camp. Stretch the four corners of the tent as far as possible. The camping area should be flat.
- 2). Insert the crossbeams into the tent. The crossbeams are the thin poles that come with the tent. The poles are inserted above what will be the tent's entryway. Place one pole in the front -- above the awning -- and the other in the back of the tent.
- 3). Connect the vertical sideposts. These posts are connected by string, and must be pushed together to make one large post. Connect the vertical posts, and place them in the hole on solid-wall side of the tent. Raise one-half of the tent. Set the vertical post into the bottom of the tent through the loop. Repeat on the other side.
- 4). Attach the stakes to the corners of the tent. Use the stakes to pull out any slack in the floor and posts. Push the stakes into the ground. Pound the stakes with a rubber mallet.
- 5). Unroll the canvas awning. Place the awning stakes through the provided holes, and seat the poles in the ground. Attach rope to the stakes. Stake the rope to the ground for additional support.
