• Mario Party 8 was released in May 2007 exclusively for the Nintendo Wii console. The Mario Party series of games features miniature competitions that are played like a giant interactive board game. Special games, characters and other items can be unlocked in Mario Party 8 by using cheats.
  
  

Items

• Players accumulate Carnival Cards while playing Mario Party 8, and they represent the only way to unlock many items in the game. Players can use Carnival Cards to unlock things at the Fun Bazaar. To unlock any of the Mini Games, players must find and spend 50 Carnival Cards. In total, there are 72 Mini Games that Carnival Cards can unlock. Board Sounds are unlocked for 50 Carnival Cards, and Board Carnival Figures are unlocked for 30 Carnival Cards. There are a total of 12 Board Carnival Figures. Heckling sounds for the background can be unlocked for 50 Carnival Cards, and all six Star Carnival Figures can be unlocked for 30 Carnival Cards each. Mario Party 8's 12 Mini Game Carnival Figures are unlocked for 30 Carnival Cards each, and the Carnival Parade is unlocked after at least one Carnival Figure is already unlocked. The game's Credit Roll is unlocked by using 100 Carnival Cards.
  
  

Star Battle Mode

• Some stages and characters are not available in Mario Party 8 at first and must be unlocked by beating Star Battle Mode. To get the Bowser's Warp Orbit stage, players must beat the Star Battle Mode with any character in the game. Beating Star Battle Mode also unlocks either the character Blooper or the Hammer Brothers characters. Once one is unlocked, the other can be unlocked only by beating Star Battle Mode again with a different character than the first time. Once Star Battle Mode is completed, players also can buy Mini Games from the Mini Game Wagon.
  
  

Mini Games

• Some Mini Games in Mario Party 8 can be unlocked only after accomplishing certain tasks. The Crown Showdown Mini Game is unlocked after unlocking a minimum of one Mini Game in 4 Player, 1 vs. 3 Player, 2 vs. 2 Player and Duel Mini Game modes. After at least one of the Duel Mini Games is unlocked, players also unlock a Mini Game called Tic-Tac Drop. Flip Out Frenzy is unlocked once at least one of the 4 Player Mini Games is unlocked. Once Star Battle Mode is completed, players can buy all other Mini Games from the Mini Game Wagon.
