Funky welding projects are a way to use up scrap metal while creating something special for your home. The beauty of welding your own pieces of art is that it can be conformed to your exact size specifications. There is also a source of pride behind making a your own home decor. - Wall art can be created to hold candles. Design a large tree shape out of metal, bending and welding on branches and leaves as it grows. Finish it off with small horizontal shelves or rings to slide candles.
Use welding to make a layered heart design from different finishes of metal. Place one on top of the other with a spacer piece in between to create a three dimensional effect. - Use old horseshoes to weld a funky chair. Lay out the base of the design and start welding the center pieces together first. Continue adding horseshoes until the seat and back are formed. Add legs and arms to your funky welded chair and then a cushion for the seat.
- Scrap metal can be used to create large outdoor sculptures. Choose a particular design such as an interpretive human or animal design or go completely abstract. Create a large box-like shape by welding panels together and then sanding down the edges. This will make it look like a solid piece of metal.
Weld recycled pieces of metal to make an abstract funky sculpture that makes a statement, forms an animal or announces your address. Large scale dinosaurs can be made from old car parts and a variety of scrap metal.
