How to Upgrade Memory in a 710M
- 1). Turn off your Inspiron 710m to avoid electrical damage, then remove the battery and the power cable.
- 2). Close the monitor, and turn the computer upside down.
- 3). Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the small memory module cover from the computer. This cover is located directly next to the battery release latch; two small screws hold it in place.
- 4). Use your fingers to spread apart the securing clips that hold the memory module into place. The module then pops out of its slot and can be removed. Replace it with your upgraded module by inserting the new module into the slot and pressing down on it until the securing clips snap into place.
- 5). Screw the memory module cover back on, then plug the battery and power cable back in. You may now turn on and use your computer.
