How to Combat Aging Skin

39
Aging is inevitable.
There's actually nothing wrong with aging at all, it's a normal process that everyone goes through.
However, most people, especially women dread aging because they hate the things that come with it such as wrinkles, fine lines and dull skin.
They say, it is much easier to prevent damage than to treat it.
The good thing is that we can actually slow down the appearance of these nasty signs of skin aging just by making some changes in our lifestyle.
Let me share to you some habits that you can incorporate to your lifestyle to help combat the signs of skin aging.
1.
Premature skin aging can be attributed to unprotected and prolonged sun exposure.
Exposure to the sun's harmful UV rays can damage the skin in more ways than you can ever imagine.
Preventing premature skin aging from the sun is a lifelong process.
Always remember to put on sunscreen when going outdoors and wear protective gear such as caps, hats, sunglasses and use an umbrella if necessary.
2.
Good hydration is the key to having healthy skin.
The first step in hydrating your system is from the inside so drink plenty of water and 100% fruit juices with no sugar.
Drinking lots of fluids doesn't only help hydrate your system, it also helps flush out toxins from your body as well.
3.
Avoid smoking and exposing yourself to second hand smoke.
Smoke draws out moisture from the skin which makes it lose its elasticity over time.
Once the skin loses its natural elasticity, it would be harder for it to retain moisture.
4.
Use a moisturizer everyday.
Moisturizers help hydrate and replenish your skin with vitamins which helps make it healthy.
It also helps in maintaining the skin's elasticity and promotes cell turnover.
Make sure that you buy one that is suited for your skin type to achieve best results.
5.
A good and restful sleep is probably the cheapest (it's free!) and the best investment that you can make for your skin.
When we sleep, our skin goes on repair mode so we need to give it lots of time.
Lack of sleep can also cause puffiness and dark undereye circles which can make you look old and stressed.
So as much as possible, try to get as much sleep and rest as you can.
Aging may be inevitable but aging ungracefully is definitely optional.
Always remember that it's never too early to protect our skin and fight aging.
