Lens Instructions for a Nikon 80-200 F2.8
- 1). Attach a 77mm 1A Daylight filter to the front of the Nikon 80-200 f2.8 lens. This filter will not only reduce the amount of ultraviolet rays from entering the lens, but will also serve to protect the front element of the lens.
- 2). Slide "M/AF-M" switch located on the lens barrel to "AF-M" in this setting the lens will function on auto focus, but will still accept manual override allowing the photographer to focus the lens as well. The "M" setting is for manual focus, which relies on the photographer to focus the lens. On some versions of this lens, the switch simply reads "A" or "M" inside a rectangle box. The lens will still accept manual override when in auto focus mode.
- 3). Slide the focus range switch to "Full." This means the lens will focus across its entire focusing distance from approximately one meter all the way to infinity. Switching the slide switch to "Limit" will shorten the auto focusing distance from approximately three meters to infinity.
