Sometimes the best gifts are anonymous. The person who gives it doesn't leave a name for any type of thanks. However, the donor can leave a note with the anonymous gift. The note can say a variety of things or give different instructions, either way leaving an impression on whoever receives the gift. - You can include notes with special quotes with an anonymous gift, especially when giving large anonymous donations to an organization. The quote can relate to something the organization stands for or it can mean something to you deeply. It should ideally be a quote both poetic and inspirational, one that can appeal to just about anyone. The note can also instruct that this quote be put on the front of a building or displayed in some way, so that it becomes part of the organization's mantra. This all hinges on the quote, how much money you donate and the policies of the organization.
- A note included with an anonymous gift can be handwritten, making the note mean a lot more. It shows that you took real time to write it by hand. You can give clues in the note hinting at who the donor might be. These clues can mention something about experiences you and the gift recipient have had together or give a general idea about who you are. You might not want to go into great detail, which would negate the point of giving an anonymous gift in the first place.
- You can deliver notes in a hidden, subtle way. If you're giving a book, leave a note between pages or chapters so the person receiving it finds the note while they are reading. Leave a kind, general note in a pocket if you're giving clothing. These notes should urge the person to cherish this anonymous gift or give them some history about the gift itself--or why you chose it.
