One of the traits that often goes overlooked of successful entrepreneurs and sports stars is not so easy to detect, but ranks high as one of the most important features that mark the winners--and conversely, the losers.
This is the ability to adjust.
As both a boxing trainer and an entrepreneur myself, I have learned some important lessons.
Failure is often the result of the inability or the unwillingness to adjust when things are not going well.
Many business owners or athletes, for example, continue to do the same thing even when they are losing.
This is usually due to one of two factors, or both--the lack of imagination or an ego that cannot admit fault.
