How to Mount a Depth Finder
- 1). Clean a spot on the transom of your boat, as close to the centerline as possible. Make sure it is clear of all dust and dirt.
- 2). Using the mounting bracket that came with the unit, screw the backing onto the transom and apply silicone sealant around the screws and metal frame. Insert the transducer into the bracket.
- 3). Attach the cable that came with the depth finder to the transducer, and plug it into the back of the display unit. Place the display unit near the steering area and install with the screws and mounting bracket that came with the depth finder. If your boat doesn't have a steering wheel, install the display unit near the rear of the boat where the operator will sit.
- 4). Test the depth finder in shallow water where you can use a line with a sinker to verify the depth and test your new depth finder. If the readings are faulty, double-check that the cable is attached properly.
