Understanding Hair Loss On Men

6
Hair loss on men is the most common type of hair loss there is.
It is said to be caused by the unusual increase of sensitivity of the male hormone called androgen, on certain parts of the scalp, which is commonly passed on from generation to generation.
Although the past has left a trademark of many people not liking patches of bald spots of even a whole bald head, nowadays clean shaven head in men are considered if not normal, almost attractive or in style.
But the question of why male hair loss is prevalent still remains.
Why do men get bald easily? Some men are even seeing rapid hair loss in their youth.
Why is this sensation happening? The male hormones in men's bodies circulate on some areas of the scalp where it is very sensitive to androgens.
These areas of the scalp have hair follicles, which shrink whenever they make contact with male hormones.
The follicles become smaller and smaller, and the time comes when they are too small to hold hair.
Eventually they grow too small to even grow hair, and repair the damaged ones.
Thus re-growth becomes difficult, and that causes visible baldness.
Although the follicles are not dead, they cannot perform their task well because they are too small to work.
Men of certain age normally develop the problem of hair loss.
The condition would usually start when a man reaches the age of 20 up to 30 years old, and then he develops a normal hair pattern.
The first sign would be a receding hairline development, and eventually the hair on top of his head will become thinner.
Slowly the two balding areas on the man's head will get together to form a U-shaped formation around the back and sides of the head.
Thought the remaining hair on the man's head is finer than before, re-growth is proven slower and more tedious than it used to be.
Male hair loss is found as genetic, and although there are forms of medications out there, the side effects are more often than not yet to be determined.
The medical treatments are required to be prescribed by doctors, because unwanted side effects are sure to come if the treatment is not the right one, or is used too often or too little.
DHT or Dihydrotestosterone is a chemical found in a man's body, which normally causes the hair loss.
Male pattern baldness is also called Alopecia, and it represents around a mighty 90% of all the hair loss causes in men.
Around 40 million men in North America alone are experiencing this problems, so people who are experiencing the same thing should not fret too much about it.
As for the men who are not yet experiencing the dreaded hair loss and receding hairline, they are likely to reach the same problematic stage when they arrive to their early fifties.
If the problem would start a mere few hairs, it is sure that after the passing years that baldness would develop.
