How to Disarm Car Alarms
- 1). Press the "Panic" button on your remote fob if you have one. The button looks like an alarm or a bell. Pressing the panic button on a remote will initiate the alarm when first pressed, and disarm it when the button is pressed during an active alarm.
- 2). Press the "Unlock" button on the remote fob if there is no panic button. Press the unlock button multiple times if once does not work, as some car models need all locks to be unlocked before the alarm will turn off.
- 3). Use the car key to unlock the driver side door if you do not have a remote fob. Try to just unlock the doors first. If that doesn't work, turn the unlock button all the way and hold it there for 10 seconds.
- 4). Open the car door if the alarm is still going off. Insert the key into the ignition and turn the ignition on. Leave the key there for 30 seconds to a minute, or until the alarm turns off.
- 5). Wait for three minutes or more if you do not have the key or the keyless fob on you. Eventually the alarm will disarm to save the battery from draining.
