How to Raise Money on the Internet to Pay a Vet Bill
- 1). Sell crafts, jewelry or other homemade items on a site such as eBay or Etsy to raise money for the vet bill. You can sell anything from paintings to photos to knit mittens.
- 2). Start a free blog with a site such as Blogger or WordPress and post about your pet situation. Include a donation button from your PayPal account or an address where people can send you money. Once you start the blog, you can post a link to it on any message boards or social networking sites that you frequent. Get the PayPal donation button by logging into your PayPal account, clicking on "Merchant Services" and then "Donate" under "Create Button." Then click on "Create Button" to get the HTML code for the button, which you can insert on the blog by using the HTML editor option for your blog post.
- 3). Create an account with Go Fund Me or Give Forward to raise money via donations online. Customize your fund-raising page with information about your pet, photos and the amount of the vet fees. You can also post links to the donation page on your Facebook, Twitter, blog or other site. Send the link to friends and family as well. As donations come in, Go Fund Me takes a five percent fee and Give Forward takes a seven percent fee, but there is no fee to create your donation page.
- 4). Start a group page on Facebook that details your pet's situation and to get the word out about your vet bill, or post a status update on your Facebook profile to let people know that you need assistance. Include a photo of your pet as well.
