• There are quite a few natural damaged hair treatments to care for your hair at home using products you may have in your refrigerator. The most popular of these damaged hair treatments that can be used for extreme damage repair are mayonnaise and vinegar.
  
  Mayonnaise:
  Since hair is dead protein, any breakage needs additional protein to help strengthen it. Massaging mayonnaise into your hair and scalp, like a conditioner, provides a good source of minerals and vitamins that nourish the hair. Leave in for 30 minutes, shampoo out the mayonnaise and style. For extra moisture, cover the head with a shower cap.
  
  Vinegar:
  Using white distilled or unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar connects strand-like enzymes of protein molecules back to the hair. One tbsp. of vinegar added to your hair rinse water will help repair over processing and add a bit of shine to your hair.

• Hot oil treatments contain proteins and vitamins needed for maintaining healthy hair, especially if the hair is styled a great deal. The oil conditions the hair and strengthens it at the same time helping to heal damaged hair.
  
  The oil used for the treatment is heated and applied to the hair and scalp, after which the hair is covered with a plastic cap allowing the oil to settle on the hair. Selecting natural oils such as olive oil, jasmine or jojoba will result in a healthier repair of hair styling damage.
  
  

Deep Layer Treatments

• One of the best ways to repair damaged hair is to use a product that penetrates all three layers of the hair shaft to infuse moisture. And since there are many deep layer treatments available, make sure you select one that repairs the hair shaft, fills in hair cuticles and seals split ends.
  
  Due to their high content of protein and other nutritional ingredients these deep conditioning treatments re-establish the elasticity of the hair. These treatments are also designed to attach oil glands back to the hair follicle.
  
  Relaxers, color treatments and bleach can all be contributing causes to extremely damaged hair that can eventually leaves your hair with rough scales. If your hair is damaged past the point of no return, the only solution is to cut off the damaged hair.
