Winning Back Your Ex - There"s No Trick to Doing It, Sincerity is Required
I was asked by a 33 year gentleman if there was any way he could win back his ex wife's love.
He asked, "What's the trick to it?" Little did he know he got my Irish blood boiling with that question! (I'm about 5% Irish).
I didn't want to jump down his throat so I waited until the next day before I answered his question.
When the next morning rolled around, I wanted to make sure I gave him a civil answer because he might not have exactly meant that he wanted to actually trick her.
Maybe he just meant to ask me what the trick was to getting up the nerve to talk to her about the possibility of getting back together.
Here is how I answered his question: "I realize that since you want to rekindle a relationship with your ex wife you have the goal to make this next time go around more successful than the first time.
I'm sure you want her to be happy and will take every step you can to accomplish this before you even consider your own happiness.
After all, love makes giving a pleasure.
Taking comes way after giving.
Since you are on terms with her, you should be able to steer a conversation with around to your former marriage and how you wish you were as mature before and during the breakup as you are now.
Because if you were you would have realized it was worth going to the end of the universe to keep your marriage together.
This should get her attention and an honest response from her.
Be aware however, she may not want you back.
This possibility exists and you have to completely understand it.
Now, I have to tell you what bothers me.
It is the fact you implied you wanted to trick her into getting back together with you.
I really hope you don't want to do that at all.
She is now a single woman and I bet she has a good idea what she wants in her future.
If you have any respect or love for her at all you will not masquerade as something you are not.
If she wants who you truly are, that's great, if not, well, that's just the way it is.
If you don't love and respect her enough to give her this option, please stay away from her!" I am always happy when lovers reunite.
However, if someone leads another back into a relationship under false pretenses, it will only make for bigger heartbreaks down the road.
This is stupid as well as cruel! There is no place in a relationship for insincerity, whether it is the first or second time around!
