Homemade Birthday Cards for Toddlers to Make
- 1). Give your toddler a piece of light-colored construction paper and crayons and markers. Let your toddler color freely on the piece of paper, creating whatever shapes and designs he likes.
- 2). Lay a large number stencil over the drawing. The stencil should be the new age of the person whose birthday it is. Tape it into place.
- 3). Cut around the stencil so that you now have a cutout of the number that is colored with your child's designs.
- 4). Turn the number over and lay it on some newspaper. Give your toddler a non-toxic glue stick and let him cover the back side of the number cut-out with glue.
- 5). Fold a piece of cardstock in half. Position it so that the crease is vertical and to the left. Place the number cut-out so that it is in the center of the front of the card.
- 6). Open the card. Place the handle of the "Happy Birthday" rubber stamp in your child's hand and guide her as she presses the rubber stamp into an ink pad.
- 7). Guide your child's hand as he presses the ink pad onto the center of the inside of the card. Press down gently on his fist as he forces the rubber stamp down on the card's interior.
- 8). Give your child a crayon or marker and encourage her to scribble on the inside of the card. If your toddler can write her name or a few letters of her name, encourage her to do that. If she can't, she can still adorn the inside of the card with her writing.
