Fish Species

• The Florida Keys' saltwater environment is home to an array of sport-fishing species. Fish of particular interest in the inshore fishery include bonefish, permit and tarpon. Offshore, the Keys have stocks of marlin, sailfish and dorado.
  
  

When to Fish

• The Florida Keys is a seasonal fishery. Offshore, marlin are best from March to October, while sailfish are present from October to April. Dorado, also known as dolphin, are most prolific from April to September. Of the inshore species, bonefish and permit are present year round while tarpon are best from January to September.
