55
Would you like for your dog to be house broken in half the time it may normally take? Are you looking for a way for your dog to be super responsive? Bell training your dog is a fast way to housebreak your dog.
It will prove to be fun and rewarding for both you and your dog.
I'll reveal the 4 keys of success to bell training your dog.
Success Key#1 - Location, Location, Location Whichever door your dog uses to go out, hang the bells there.
If your dog uses more than one door hang the bells there as well.
Be sure to hang the bells on the inside knob of the door(s).
Success Key#2 - Stick With One Potty Training Command In my case I use "Let's Go Pee.
" You may use whatever phrase you choose.
Just be sure to stick to the same one.
Make sure your household uses whatever phrase you choose as well.
You want to be consistent in your command.
Success Key#3 - First Thing In The Morning As soon as your dog wakes up in the morning is the best time to start the training.
This way you know for a fact your dog has to go.
As soon as you give your command "Let's Go Pee", have your dog softly hit the bells with his paws.
Most likely your dog has to go really bad so only have him ring the bell 2 or 3 times quickly.
During the bell ringing encourage your dog with "Good Boy!" or some other words of encouragement.
Refrain from giving your dog treats right now.
You don't want to train your dog into thinking that ringing the bell gets him a treat.
Give him the treat only after he goes outside to do his business.
Success Key#4 - Consistency & Repetition Your dog learns through these 2 factors primarily.
You are going to want to repeat this process every morning when your dog gets up.
After about 4 or 8 hours has gone by depending on the age of your dog, repeat this same process.
4 if he is a puppy and 8 if he is full grown.
This way you know for a fact that they have to use the bathroom.
Remember that the location of the bells is key.
Always stick to one potty training command and have your family members do the same.
Take your dog out as soon as he wakes up in the morning.
Repetition and being consistent will make the whole process stick and stick fast.
Apply these 4 success keys and you will be on your way to dog owner happiness.
