I Need A Price Check on Hair Regrowth!

42
Last year a million people spent thousands each on surgical hair transplants. Countless men and women spent hundreds or more on chemicals and drugs to regrow their lost locks.

Let's face it, as our follicles fail us, it can all be quite enticing.

Conventional wisdom states that hair loss is genetic, so we pretty much accept that as fact. Fact is, they say, it takes either these treatments, those pills or that surgery to get the hair back.

"Results mary vary", they say, but heck, the prospect of having hair all over our heads again makes it worth a try, right?

What's more, they kindly recognize and empathize with our unsightliness and low self esteem due to our baldness, so they're on our side, right?

Just who are "they" anyway?

Are we talking about the medical community whose decades of vast research have yielded these findings?

Or are we talking about the tremendously profitable pharmaceutical companies which lean on the medical community and the media?

Are we missing any information here? When all is said and done, might Mother Nature do a better job against Father Time, all by herself?

More new studies every day are showing that most hair loss is, indeed, not genetic!

Hair follicles are trapped and blocked off from vital blood supplies that are needed to nourish their development, so the hair is literally being starved to death!

New wisdom says that if we solve that problem, most, if not all of our hair will come back. We've addressed and eliminated the cause, not the symptoms of hair loss. Simple! So why didn't we know about this already?

There's literally no money in it. Todays chemical mills make huge corporations billions of dollars each, and doctors hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

When it comes to transplants, those who have a small area of scalp to cover typically need 1,000 to 2,000 grafts, which generally costs between $3,000 and $10,000. For those with more area to cover, 2,000 to 3,000 grafts will be needed, at a cost of $5,000 to $15,000. Significantly bald people will need 3,000 to 4,000 grafts at a whopping $9,000 to $20,000!

Would these companies be foolish enough to promote something that would cost us less than $15 at the grocery store, I wondered? Would they give up the chance to make more money off of each of us every month for the rest of our lives?

That "drum of desparation" has pounded for decades. I marched to it myself for a couple of years with four or five bottles of assorted mysterious and PRICEY shampoos and solutions I was told I had to use each day. In retrospect, it really was unbelievable what I spent every month.

Had the results reflected the investment, you may instead be reading an article right now about oh, say muscle growth or (gulp) libido. I can never tell which product goes with which affliction, though, because the names all sound the same.

There seems to be substance to today's holistic approach to alopecia (hair loss). Male and female pattern baldness is a type of permanent alopecia called androgenetic alopecia. There are also a few types of traction alopecia (temporary hair loss).

The latter can occur as a result of:

constantly styling hair in tight braids or ponytails, as the hair bands and resulting pulling and stretching stresses the and weakens the hair;

stressful situations such as recovering from an illness, going through a divorce or loss of a loved one;

hormonal changes resulting from thyroid disease, or in women an estrogen imbalance.

So to stop temporary hair loss, stop pulling, stop stressing, then do what you must do about the other things; but what about the permanent stuff?

That's where most conventional wisdom turns to genetics (How does that go again? Is it Mom's side of the family or Dad's side?) Thus remain the 2 most popular current options: drugs and transplants.

REGROW THAT HAIR. For years now, one of the most popular hair regrowth medications has been minoxidil, originally used as a blood pressure medication until the strange side effect of hair growth was noticed.

PERHAPS YOU'D PREFER INSTANT HAIR. One can't help but be fascinated by transplant science: extracting small plugs of hair from where it still grows, and replanting them where the stuff used to grow (I'll bet it feels great when the meds start to wear off. How many sessions did you say we had to do?)

The holistic approach seemed worth pursuing a bit, so I did, a lot. Being neither a scientist nor an expert on hair loss, I did what the rest of us have to do: read whatever we can find, and read some more. I drew the same basic conclusion as many: Since significant numbers of people in each camp reported some level of successful hair regrowth; and if there's an all-natural option among them, why would one not heavily weigh that option?

We all will all draw our own conclusions. As for me, I truly believe that I've come across the solution to hair loss that works for me. For those who are as curious as I was, I'm always more than happy to share what I've learned here:http://paydotcom.net/r/5276/kwarnock/27296145/

For now you'll have to excuse me. I've got about $12 worth of grocery shopping to do.
