Leaving Debtors Prison With Debt Consolidation

33
A while back we had spun a story about how the United States of America, during the days leading up to the Civil War, used the State of South Carolina in the territory of Carolina as a storehouse for naughty-colonists and a debtor's prison.
That story seemed to have gotten a lot of attention and we thought we would expand a little bit and do that by adding some relevant information about how you can dodge debtor's prison with a debt consolidation loan.
Pre-Colonial America Debt prison was a reality for thousands of individuals in pre-colonial America and must have been a hellish-environment for those who only had a few hundred dollars of colonial debt.
Just what was that debt consisted of is anyone's guess but we related that it could have been for taxes and such.
After all that was what the Revolutionary War was fought over in the first place, taxation without representation.
The reality of why those Americans were placed in South Carolina still remains a mystery to this day but we have a sneaking suspicion that it had to do with either a bad land deal that the individual settlement occupier could no longer afford to pay or there was a sickness or death in the family.
When the head of the household and the breadwinner is gone it is the family that must pay for the unfortunate sins of the father.
South Carolina Debtors Prison Revisited Regardless of what got those individuals and even the many women who were sent to debtor's prison in South Carolina in the beginning what we do know is that the abolishment of that terrible practice went away almost as quickly as it came.
It was not quick to the prisoners we understand but in a time-line format it looks rather fast.
We need to learn from this tragedy that befell so many basically-innocent of any real crime settlers because history that is not learned from runs the chance of being repeated.
Budget Concerns No one wants to think about their loved ones stuck in prison for credit card debt or any other form of unsecured debt but in essence that is exactly what is happening in America today on an magnified-level that is closer to an epidemic than just a spike in individuals needing some help and debt release.
Please try something for us so that we can feel better about your chances of survival in 2011 with your family finances.
Create a working budget for you and your family that is a believable doable and actually one that can be discussed with the family before dinner or maybe at the beach this weekend.
