How to Unlock My Windows Administrator Password

Reset the Administrator Password
1Turn on your PC.

Press and hold "F8" as the computer starts to boot. You will then be taken to the WIndows Boot Menu. From the screen, select "Safe Mode."

Select "Default Administrator" to create a new password. You can leave the password blank by pressing "Enter." When you log in to the default account, select "Control Panel."

Open the "User Account" tab. Select "Family Safety." From the menu, select "User Account" and select "Manage." From the Manage menu, select the original user name that contains the administrative password. Select "Remove Password."
Unlock the Password
1Click "Start."

Select "Run." In the type box, enter "control userpasswords2."

Press "Enter." Locate the box that states, "Users must enter a user name and password to enter this computer." Uncheck the box to unlock the administrative rights to the computer.
