    • 1). Slide the slip sinker onto the fishing line, with the tapered end of the slip sinker facing toward the tip of the rod.

    • 2). Thread the fishing line through the eye of the hook. Pull 4 inches of fishing line through the eye of the hook. Place your thumb on the eye of the hook to hold the fishing line in place. Wrap the 4-inch piece of fishing line around the main line coming down from the fishing rod four times. Bring the end of the 4-inch piece of fishing line down and through the loop formed where your thumb is holding the fishing line to the hook. Pull on both the hook and the end of the 4-inch piece of fishing line, until you have a clinch knot resting tight to the eye of the hook.

    • 3). Place the point of the fishing hook on the center of the forward tip of the rubber worm. Push the point of the hook into the rubber worm. Bring the tip of the hook out of the rubber worm three-eighths of an inch back from the insertion point of the hook. Pull the hook through the rubber worm until the eye of the hook is resting slightly below the tip of the rubber worm.

    • 4). Spin the hook so that the point of the hook is facing toward the rubber worm. Pull the worm so that the worm is straight. Insert the point of the hook into the rubber worm so that the barb of the hook is resting inside the rubber worm. Push the point of the hook through the rubber worm slightly to create an opening for the hook to go through when you set the hook on a fish.

    • 5). Pull the point of the hook back into the rubber worm. Slide the slip sinker against the head of the rubber worm to complete the "Texas rig".
