Each cell phone was revealing a chronicle, an enduring tale of how it made a break through into the mobile phone market. When Najma asked the shopkeeper, after briefly inspecting the second hand, yet as good as new Nokia N96 to pack it up along with the accessories and warranty card, he simply decline by saying that mobile was being sold to him without any accessories, leave alone the warranty card. Still the shopkeeper kept his word, by providing a warranty of his own.

Arif was on the way to home, when he was mugged, he felt sad about the loss of his brand new Nokia N96 which he had bought last week. This was not the first time that he came across by muggers. However this was the first time that out of the disappointment he came up with the idea of keeping second hand cheap cell phones.

Mobile phone industry is growing in Pakistan and as time passes by it keeps on increasing and possess a potential. However with the increasing potential is the increase in street crimes, attracting muggers to simply point out weapon towards any ongoing individual, and turn him into a victim by depriving him of his cell phone. Thus in a growing market it posses a risk and needs to seek measure, which is none other than stop buying and selling second hand mobile phones because of the following reasons:
  1. Most of the used cell phones that do come into the market are a result of burglary or street crime, a proof of which is that used ones don't come up with their accessories.
  2. Shopkeepers are keener to sell used phones over new ones even if they have to sell them at quarter price of the original one.
  3. Buying used cell phones poses a threat to the mobile industry. Once the buyer becomes a victim of snatching, his passion for keeping expensive cell phone boils down.
  4. Due to this lawlessness most of the Pakistanis are now willing to buy China mobile sets rather expensive and branded cell phones. As an example, people now prefer Q3 over the similar kind of Nokia phones.
  5. Buying brand new cell phones or a used one with proper accessories, warranty card   and the seller's info would reduce the risk of snatching.
  6. As a result mobile phone industry in Pakistan would flourish, retaining peoples' trust as well as their passion.
