2007 Saturn Vue Stereo Removal
- 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable (look for the "-" sign) with the pliers before beginning the removal of the stereo. This is a safety precaution required before handling your vehicle's electronics.
- 2). Grasp the rear portion of the trim piece surrounding the gear shift knob (the panel with the power window controls). Pull the trim up and back to unhook it from the console. The rear part will unhook fairly easily, but the front part will still be attached.
Lift the piece forward to expose its underside. Underneath, on the front, you'll find a release tab. Squeeze this tab and pull the piece upward to unhook it. - 3). Unplug the various connections from the rear of the panel. This panel houses the power outlet, power window controls and traction control switch (if equipped). Unplug each of them and move the panel to the side.
- 4). Remove the four Phillips screws that secure the lower storage compartment. These screws are visible when the gearshift trim piece is removed. Pull this compartment out of its mount and set it to the side.
- 5). Grasp the outer edges of the console trim panel (surrounding the stereo and climate controls). Pull this panel away from the console to detach the clips behind. Unplug the hazard light connection from behind the panel. With this panel off, the radio screws are visible.
- 6). Remove the four Phillips screws from the stereo head unit. Slide the unit out carefully to access the rear; unplug the two connections behind it (wiring harness and antenna). Set the stereo to the side.
