How to Grow Peace Lilies Outdoors in Florida
- 1). Dig a hole as deep and wide as the pot the peace lily is in. Choose an area of the landscape that does not receive full sunlight. Peace lilies prefer filtered light but tolerate low-light conditions. Direct sunlight burns the leaves.
- 2). Mix equal amounts of compost and soil together if the soil is sandy. The compost improves the moisture retention of the soil. Peace lilies require well-drained soil that stays moist.
- 3). Wrap both hands around the base of the plant and pull the peace lily from the pot.
- 4). Place the plant in the hole and backfill with soil. Water the plant as you backfill the hole to remove air pockets. Firm the soil around the plant at ground level.
- 5). Apply a 20-20-20 fertilizer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
