Setting up a site or blog can be lucrative but there are procedures that govern that line of business.
The procedures are what many people are trying to avoid, preferring the short-cut ways to success.
Success is like a fruit-bearing tree - it has branches, leaves, roots, stem, etc.
The fruits begin to come whenever the whole parts are cooperating and feeding properly.
The issue of money-making through websites and blogs has been highly misunderstood because of overzealousness.
People believe that the moment they set up a site or blog, and have one or two affiliate programs running, money flies in just like that.
A lot of people have made it in that simple way before, but not all the time and not everybody can be lucky at that.
I have known and worked on four simple truths that can deny you the opportunity of pulling in money into your bank account if you are using free sites or blogs.
Though these may look too simple, but they are too strong as to dislodge you at the edge of breakthrough.

Free Sites Have No Guarantee - When you refer people to a blog or site with a domain name that carries the name of the company that gave it to you, it makes all that you do to look unprofessional and real.
Many people will not be moved to buy things from such a site.
Every visitor that logs into your site is interested on how far you can guarantee him of your sincerity.
Free sites or blogs do not give visitors the needed guarantee or assurance for genuine identities.

Limited Designs - Free blogs or sites do not give you the professional designed themes and the opportunity to display your affiliate promotional materials the way you want, which may be more attractive to your visitors to click on.

Limited Control - Providers of free sites or blogs do not give you complete control of your blog's security - anything can happen and you could lose your site.
A lost site or blog is not to your advantage, after all the time wasted in building and placing your banners or affiliate links.
The truth is, when you are not there, you are not there, and no visitor will be able to access your site or blog to give you the millions you are looking for.

Claim of Ownership - You cannot claim ownership of a free site or blog even though it contains your details, and as such, cannot sell the blog or site if you desire to sell it.
It does not belong to you.
The only right you have to sell a blog or site and still move on is when you own the domain.
Through this way, you can make money, but when you don't have claim of ownership over a blog, you lose!
