How to Assemble a Laundry Sorter
- 1). Purchase the laundry sorter either at your local store or online. If you prefer to build your laundry sorter from scratch decide how many sections you want and buy the corresponding number of pipes, PVC is a common choice, corners, wheels and fabric to attach to the sides.
- 2). Separate the parts of the laundry sorter you purchased and lay them on the floor in front of you.
- 3). Check to see that all the materials listed are there. There is nothing like finding out an important piece, like the one that holds everything together, is missing. If you find anything missing now is the time go back to the store.
- 4). Place the connectors on the ends of the pipes. You will adjust the connectors to face either horizontally or vertically as needed to secure the next pipe.
- 5). Slip the pipes to the connectors making sure they slide all the way to the end. As the pipes are connected, you will be able to stand the frame upright. Make any adjustments necessary when you inspect this part of the assembly.
- 6). Attach the clamps to the four sides of the sorter. The laundry sorter may come with fabric that slides onto the top horizontal pipes. If this is your type of sorter, do not connect all pipes until you have the fabric for the bends slid into place.
- 7). Secure the fabric, if you have not done so already, to the clamps. Repeat for each section.
- 8). Attach the wheels to the bottom, if the laundry sorter came with them.
