How to Make Centerpieces for a Red-Themed Wedding
- 1). Slice the bottom off of an 8-inch floral foam sphere with a craft knife to create a flat surface. Soak the foam sphere in a large bowl or sink of cool water until it is saturated.
- 2). Place the water-soaked sphere on a work table. Snip the heads off of at least 30 fresh red roses using scissors, leaving 1 inch of each stem intact. Cut the stems at slight angles to encourage maximum water absorption for longer-lasting flowers. Have more roses on hand in case you need additional blooms to cover the sphere.
- 3). Insert the rose stems into the foam, covering the sphere's entire surface, except for its flat bottom, with blooms. Fill in any small gaps with sprigs of baby's breath or greenery if you desire.
- 4). Place the red rose dome on top of a pedestal-style crystal cake stand to complete the centerpiece. Place the floral decor in the middle of the table and surround it with small glass candle holders filled with red votives to create a warm glow.
