Router Problems With Vista
- If you are unable to connect to the router, there may be a problem with your wired or wireless network adapter. Check that the adapter is firmly connected and, in the case of a wireless device, that the router is broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal within range. Also check the Network connections settings in Control Panel.
- If you have a working connection to your router but are unable to get online, it's likely the problem lies with the router itself. Check the status of your connection (via your service provider's website), check the username and password you've entered for your Internet subscription and consult the settings configured on the router.
- An unreliable or intermittent connection can be caused by a faulty router or third-party software interfering with your connection. Check the settings of any security software you installed and try temporarily disabling programs to see if the issue is fixed.
