Hi, I'm Wendy Crispell. I'm a food and wine specialist in New York City, and today on this rainy day we're aboard Classic Harbor Lines Motor Yacht, Manhattan, and we're going to learn today about how to make a whiskey sour on the rocks. Whiskey sours can traditionally be made with bourbon, rye whiskey, Canadian whiskey or Scotch. Today we're actually going to use Canadian whiskey. I like it because it's a little bit tangier. Sometimes people put egg whites in sours, we're not going to do this today. Whiskey sour is the base of many different cocktails and it's very classic. So we're going to add two ounces of Canadian whiskey, three quarters an ounce of simple syrup made by just warming until the sugar incorporates, one cup of sugar and one cup of water, three quarters of an ounce of fresh lemon juice. Please use freshly squeezed lemons, okay, to get a nice chill we're going to shake this for about 30 seconds so it's nice and frosty on the outside of the cup. I like to serve it in a small tumbler over ice, perfect. Now just garnish with a nice orange slice and that's how you make a whiskey sour. I'm Wendy Crispell, food and wine consultant in New York City.
