    • 1). Eat foods high in fiber and protein that will nurture unhealthy arteries. Buy vegetables, fruits and anything low fat. Avoid saturated fats and foods that are sugary. Try foods like grapefruit, apples, beans, salmon, spinach, tomatoes and garlic. Use olive oil when you fry foods. Olive oil, unlike most oils, will not stick to your artery walls.

    • 2). Find a workout routine that you feel comfortable with. Work out every day for 30 minutes. Exercising lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and increases "good" cholesterol (HDL). Vary your exercise routines. Ensure that you perform cardio workouts for heart health, and sweat as much as possible.

    • 3). Quit smoking and drinking. Cut your substance intake down if you know you will not quit. Replace these bad habits with hobbies. Try things that you like to do to occupy your time.

    • 4). Take medications. Consult a doctor first to see what medicines are most resistant to clogged arteries. Medicines that contain beta-blockers, calcium-channel blockers and nitrates are effective.
