2003 Dodge Grand Caravan Specs
- The Dodge Caravan, introduced in 1984, was Chrysler's first front-wheel-drive minivan. In 1987, the wheelbase was extended and the vehicle was renamed the Grand Caravan. The 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan came in six models (from least to most expensive): base extended cargo, SE, EL, Sport, EX and ES. The manufacturer's suggested retail price ranged from $20,640 to $24,874.
- The 2003 Caravan came with three engine options. A 3.3-liter V-6 produced 180 horsepower at 5,000 revolutions per minute and 210 foot-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpms. A 3.8-liter V-6 produced 215 horsepower at 5,000 rpms and 245 foot-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpms. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine produced 150 horsespower at 5,400 rpms and 165 foot-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpms.
- Safety features included antilock disc brakes and air bags for the driver and front passenger seats. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2003 Caravan four stars for protection in front-impact crashes and five (out of five) stars for protection in side-impact crashes.
- Front-seat headroom was 39.6 inches. It was 39 inches in the rear seats. Legroom was 40.6 inches in the front seat and 39 inches in the rear. Cargo capacity was 17.6 cubic feet with all seats in place and 168 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats removed.
- The 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan was 200.5 inches long, 78.6 inches wide and 68.9 inches high. The wheelbase was 119.3 inches and the vehicle weighed approximately 3,990 lbs.
