25
    • 1). Turn the keyboard over, and remove the battery cover. Replace the keyboard's AAA batteries. Replace the battery compartment cover.

    • 2). Verify that the keyboard is fully unfolded, and that the "retainer bar" is in the upright position to support the device.

    • 3). Connect the Palm PDA device to the connection port on the top of the keyboard. Depending on the specific Palm model, the connection on the PDA may be on the side (landscape orientation) or on the bottom (regular orientation) of the device.

    • 4). Press the power button on the Palm PDA. If the device does not turn on, connect it to the computer via the Palm sync dock or the included USB cable, and allow it to fully charge. Reconnect the PDA to the keyboard when charged.

    • 5). Verify that the retainer bar and connection port are firmly connected to the Palm device. Some Palm PDAs use infrared (IR) wireless technology to communicate with the keyboard. If your Palm device has this feature, navigate to the "Settings" menu on the PDA followed by "Wireless settings," and verify that the "infrared receiver" is enabled.

    • 6). Insert the CD that came with the Palm keyboard into the optical drive on the computer. Wait for the "Install" screen to appear, and follow the onscreen instructions. Allow the installer to update the device drivers for the Palm OS sync software. When prompted, connect the Palm PDA to it's sync dock or USB cable, and press the device's "power button." If a prompt does not appear, locate and select the "Palm OS sync" software under "Start" > "All Programs," in the HP Palm folder. Select "Sync" from the Palm OS Control Panel that appears. Wait for the sync to complete.

    • 7). Eject the CD and disconnect the PDA device from the USB connection. Reconnect the device to the Palm keyboard.
