Google Panda hurts many Webmaster in this year. Google is always trying to fetch quality results for its visitors. In the continuity of Panda in September and October, Over the weekend many webmasters have noticed that search engine rankings of their sites have dropped. They are still wondering that what has actually back lashed on them without knowing that this is Panda Update on last Friday by Google. Google has released 20th update to its Panda algorithm. Panda EMD is meant to address low quality (EMD) Exact Match Domain.
By exact match domain Google means domains that exactly match the search query. For example, for search query "ABC Search" domain www.abcsearch.com will be an exact domain. Prior to Panda 20 update exact domains were doing well regardless of content quality.
Team leader of web spam fighting at Google Matt Cutts announced the update on twitter. He tweeted.
"Minor weather report: small upcoming Google algo change will reduce low-quality "exact-match" domains in search results."
Matt Cutts went on to clarify the situation further by saying that
"Google began rolling out a new update of Panda on Thursday, 9/27. This is actually a Panda algorithm update, not just a data update. A lot of the most-visible differences went live Thursday 9/27, but the full rollout is baking into our index and that process will continue for another 3-4 days or so. This update affects about 2.4% of English queries to a degree that a regular user might notice, with a smaller impact in other languages (0.5% in French and Spanish, for example)."
Although Panda EMD has pushed back many sites. It will be no easy task for webmasters to exactly know whether they have fallen victim to Exact match domain update of Panda EMD algorithm update.
