How to Tell If a Chi Hair Iron Is Fake:Some Notes
The Chi hair iron is well known for its innovative technology that it is a flat iron. It has ceramic face on each interior side to give even heat distribution and is designed ergonomically for easy handling. There are many imitators coming up in the market who claim they sell the Chi hair iron because of its professional quality. To check whether you are having original Chi iron or a fake one, here are some of the ways to determine.
1. One of the easy ways is to look at the plug. That will decide whether you are having original one or not. The original one will have three prongs and a reset button. If the iron is not having these basic requirements, then you have got fake one.
2. Don't forget to check for the logos and stickers on the hair iron. If the sticker is in silver color near to the switch, then it is a fake iron. There are no stickers for real Chi flat irons. You can also make out by the logos. The logos may be off center and look cheap for fake iron.
3. Do not forget to check for the handle for any electrical information for example, settings and wattage, etc. If it is real Chi hair iron, the details will be embedded in the handle of the flat iron.
4. Manual should be read carefully. If it is a real Chi iron, it will be having a manual containing numbers which you can call for support. A Chi iron has a model number and can be verified to know whether it is a real one or fake.
5. The LED light on your hair iron should be transparent when it is off. Verify for that. To identify easily, a fake iron has LED light in red color whether it is on off or on position. Only the real Chi iron has its red light when switched on and is opaque when in off position.
6. Check for the information beside the power switch. If the information is embedded on surface of iron then it is real Chi iron. A fake iron may have sticker instead of having embedded information.
