Arcoroc glass history
- Arc International was founded in Arques, France, in1825 as a glass-making company, according to Hoovers.com. Alexander des Lyons de Noircarm began production with glass storage containers. In the following years, Arc expanded into consumer cooking and dining glassware. The Durand family has owned it since 1916.
- Arc's first popular products included glass storage containers and stemware. Perhaps its most iconic is the 10-sided "working glass," produced by the Luminarc brand and summarized on the Luminarc website.
- Arc launched the Arcoroc brand--targeted toward the commercial food industry--in 1963. The home-oriented Luminarc brand is Arc's oldest brand currently being sold. It launched 15 years earlier, in 1948.
- Primarily distributed in Europe, Arcoroc's primary glass outlet is its drink ware line. The brand produces stemware, tumblers, bocks, decanters and accessories, according to its website.
- Arcoroc also produces clear and colored glass bowls and tableware.
